MIDDLETOWN, CT. - The Wesleyan University men's cross country team captured a historic Little Three Championship title on Saturday morning, the first team title since 1984, edging Williams in a dramatic team finish. Wesleyan and Williams each finished with 39 points, but Wesleyan secured the title by virtue of a tiebreaker. Wesleyan was led by junior Dylan Cote, who won the individual 6K race.

As the Cardinals and Ephs battled through to 39-point finishes, Amherst placed third with 44 points. The Cardinals captured the tiebreaker win in a Top 5 head to head comparison with three Cardinals finishing ahead of their Ephs counterpart. 

Cote led all Cardinals with the first-place finish, winning the individual men's title in 18:16.8, more than six seconds ahead of the runner-up. Zach Allen '27 placed sixth in 18:38.6, followed by Noah Mahoney in seventh at 18:45.1.

Freshman Brendan Quinn made an impressive collegiate debut, finishing eighth overall in 18:47.1 and giving Wesleyan four runners in the top eight. Emmett Leachman '29 rounded out the Cardinals' scoring five, placing 17th in 18:59.4.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19 when they host the 2026 Cardinal Invitational.
