Matt Bielenda enters his second season as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program in 2024-25.
Bielenda is returning home to Connecticut after spending the past five years playing men’s basketball for Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. Matt helped guide the Valiants to two conference championship games in 2022 and 2023 and also served as team captain during the 2022-23 season. Bielenda was an honor roll student, graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the GLS program at Wesleyan.
In 2018, Bielenda graduated from Xavier High School in Middletown, Connecticut. He was a member of the basketball team for four years and was co-captain during his senior year, helping his team advance for the CIAC state playoffs.
Bielenda has worked at numerous summer basketball camps and clinics. He most recently completed an internship with Hoop Group, in East Stroudsburg, PA. Hoop Group is one of the premier grass roots basketball development organizations in the country. Bielenda was heavily involved in all aspects of this company including sales, marketing, player development, and assisted in various AAU tournament logistics.
Bielenda resides in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
