Sam Pratt

Sam Pratt graduated from Wesleyan with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2019 and returns to the coaching staff for his second season in 2020-21. He is also enrolled in the Wesleyan Graduate Liberal Studies Program as he pursues his master's degree.

Growing up in London, England, Pratt began his rowing career his freshman year of High School at Hampton School. During his sophomore season, he won silver medals in both the J16 Men’s 8+ and the J16 Men’s 4-. In the same year, he rowed at the Henley Royal Regatta and went on to represent Great Britain at the Under 16’s GB v France match race, where he won a gold medal in the men’s eight. He rowed in Hampton School’s first eight in both his junior and senior year. In the summer after graduating high school, Pratt attained the British Rowing level 2 coaching certification.

Pratt rowed all four years at Wesleyan, receiving a varsity letter every season. In the summer of 2017, he rowed at the Henley Royal Regatta in the Wyfold Challenge Cup, representing the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club. The following summer, he raced in the United States 4- at the University World Championships in Shanghai. Pratt was elected co-captain of Wesleyan Crew his senior year by his teammates.
