Will Pilat returns to the Wesleyan coaching staff in 2022-23 for his seventh year overall and his fourth as the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. He recently earned his master’s degree from Wesleyan in the Graduate Liberal Studies Program.

As a member of the 2017 and 2018 IMLCA Northeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year, Pilat works with the offense and goalies on a daily basis on the field. Pilat helped engineer an offense that averaged over 16 goals per game in 2023 as well as finishing 8th in Division 3 in points per game, 6th in total assists, and 2nd in assists per game in the 2022 campaign.  During his time at Wesleyan there have been 24 All NESCAC selections as well as 30 USILA All-American Selections. Pilat’s efforts with the goaltending unit at Wesleyan include producing two All-Americans, including the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Award winner in 2017.  Off the field there have been 84 All NESCAC Academic selections during Pilat’s tenure on staff at Wesleyan.

A 2016 graduate of Roanoke College, and team captain his senior season, Pilat was a two-time USILA All-America Honorable Mention attackman during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He was also named a USILA Scholar All-American after his senior season. Pilat finished his career as one of the top 10 scorers in program history while playing under his father, Bill Pilat, who has been the head coach for the Maroons for the past 34 seasons.  Pilat also is a camp director for the long running goalie camp his father founded: Bill Pilat’s The Goalie School, and has led multiple goalie camps for boys 10-18.
