Sam Hoyt

Sam Hoyt enters his first season as the diving coach for the Wesleyan men's and women's swimming & diving programs in 2023-24. No stronger to the NESCAC, Hoyt comes to Middletown having most-recently served as the diving coach at Connecticut College for the past four seasons. 

In his time with Conn., Hoyt mentored and coached student-athletes at various skill levels, creating weekly training plans. He monitored athletics and academic progress of the student-athletes, and actively encouraged a focus on studies. Hoyt also oversaw the recruitment of student-athletes and the maintenance of the diving boards on campus. 

A graduate of Union College in 2018, Hoyt was a three-time All-American while competing for the Dutchmen, finishing top 8 in the nation for all of NCAA Division III. He was named the Liberty League Diver of the Week 27 times and the ECAC Collegiate Upstate Diver of the Week eight times throughout his career. Hoyt was a two-time All-Liberty League First Team selection, finishing first twice at the conference championship meet, and he still holds all diving records at Union.
