Maddie Bledsoe '18

Maddie Bledsoe '18 is back for her second season coaching at her alma mater Wesleyan in the 2024-25 season. A two-year team captain and All-NESCAC performer for the Cardinals, Bledsoe returned to Middlebury after having been an assistant coach at Skidmore (2018-19) and league rival Colby (2019-23).

Bledsoe arrived in Middletown having served as assistant coach at Colby from 2019-23. She assisted with on-court coaching, practice planning, and was primarily responsible for post play breakdowns. Tasked with opponent scouting reports, film breakdowns, game plans, strategies, and defensive assignments. She also took over the team social media accounts, created graphics using Adobe Photoshop, and created video content.

Prior to Colby, Bledsoe's first career coaching position came as an assistant for Skidmore in the 2018-19 season. She assisted with in-game coaching, practice planning, on-campus recruiting, campus tours, opponent scouting reports, and meals for travel arrangements.

A four-year contributor for the Cardinals, Bledsoe finished her career with 595 points and 486 rebounds in 87 games (50 starts). She was a Second Team All-NESCAC performer in her breakout senior year wherein she averaged a double-double with 10.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game across 25 games (all starts). Bledsoe shot 48.3 percent from the floor and 40.4 percent from three while also dishing out over two assists per game. Maddie was a three-time NESCAC All-Academic Team selection, CoSIDA Academic All-District Team honoree, and was selected to play in the NEWBA Senior All-Star Classic. 

Maddie graduated from Wesleyan with a bachelor of arts degree in neuroscience and behavior with a minor in data analysis in 2018.Â
