Seamus Trzewik-Quinn

Seamus Trzewik-Quinn joined the Wesleyan men's and women's swimming & diving programs as an assistant coach in 2021-22. Trzewik-Quinn hails from New Paltz, New York and recently graduated from UMass-Amherst in May of 2021, earning his BS degree in Sports Management and his BA in Sports Journalism. 

He brings a wealth of experience as a Div. I swimmer as well as a head swim coach at Arlington High School in Lagrangeville, NY and assistant swim coach for the Amherst Tritons Swim Team in Amherst, MA.  Seamus also has experience managing a pool and has worked as a swim lesson instructor and supervising guard at Moriello Pool in New Paltz, NY. 
 
As part of his assistant coach responsibilities, Seamus will be involved with the daily operations of planning and running pool workouts, designing and supervising the strength and conditioning workouts, assist with recruiting and the team's social media presence, as well as the myriad of administrative duties assigned by Coach Solomon to prepare for the season and team events.  He will also have department responsibilities throughout the year, including assisting with Physical Education Classes and Event Management duties at other varsity competitions.  Additionally, Seamus will be able to pursue his Master's Degree in Liberal Studies while coaching at Wesleyan.
 
Trzewik-Quinn, who swam competitively for over 15 years, holds numerous club, district, and high school records.  As a four-year swimmer and backstroke specialist for UMass Amherst, Seamus was an Atlantic-10 honor roll recipient and five-time Atlantic-10 conference finalist.  His extensive background as a collegiate swimmer, swim coach, clinician, and swim lesson instructor impressed everyone on the search committee.
