Men's Hockey Falls to Tufts 4-1

MALDEN, Mass.- The Wesleyan Cardinals fell to the Tufts Jumbos 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The third period saw four goals scored, three by the Jumbos and one by the Cardinals
  • Tufts scored the first four goals of the game
  • Wesleyan goaltender, junior Dawson Sprigings made 42 saves on 46 shots.
  • The Jumbos outshot the Cardinals 46-37
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  • Tufts got on the board first with a goal at 15:26 in the first thanks to a goal by Dan Kelly which was assisted by Nick Flanagan and Stewart Bell
  • In the third, Matt Pugh gave Tufts a 2-0 lead at 2:02. His goal was assisted by Nicholas Abbene and Conal Lynch.
  • The next Jumbos goal was scored at 6:55 by Chad Goldberg and was assisted by Clay Berger and Brian Brown.
  • Mike Leary gave Tufts a 4-0 lead at 10:02. His goal was assisted by Dominic Granato.
  • The Cardinals broke through at 13:54 with a goal by Jaren Taenaka '16 and was assisted by Luke Babcock '19 and Jordan Jancze '17.
