The Lead: The Wesleyan University women's soccer team played NESCAC rival Hamilton College to a 0-0 draw in double-overtime on an overcast early afternoon at Jackson Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams played an even first half, with the shots at 5-4 in favor of the Cardinals.
- The second half was all Continentals as they held a 10-1 advantage in shots, however they were unable to get on by the Wesleyan defense, which was led by freshman keeper, Zoe Cassels-Brown, who made seven saves in the half.
- The two teams would complete 90 minutes of action tied at zero.
- The first overtime saw the visitors take two shots, but none made it on net.
- Wesleyan controlled the majority of the second overtime, but could only get one shot off, which went wide.
- The two teams would wrap up 110 minutes of competitive play tied at zero.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Hamilton had the advantage in shots at 17-7, and 12 of those Continental shots were on goal, while the Cardinals could only get two on net.
- Corner kicks were tied at five all.
- Cassels-Brown made 12 saves in net, while her counterpart in net, Rachel Cooley, made two.
- Victoria Matthews '17 and Nicole Brodkowitz '20 registered shots-on-goal for the home team.
