BRUNSWICK, Maine. – Four players scored in double-figures but it wasn't enough as the 20th-ranked Wesleyan University men's basketball team dropped a NESCAC matchup on the road Friday night to Bowdoin College, 80-71.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals came out strong and held a 24-13 lead midway through the first half, but Bowdoin answered with a run of its own before taking a 36-33 lead at halftime, and eventually pulling away in the second frame.
- B.J. Davis '16 and Joseph Kuo '17 led the Cardinals with 12 points each. Nathan Krill '18 posted a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, and Harry Rafferty '17 chipped in another 10 points for the visitors. Davis also led Wesleyan in assists (3) and steals (4).
- The Polar Bears were led by Jack Simonds and Lucas Hausman with 27 and 25 points, respectively. Simonds also recorded eight rebounds, while Hugh O'Neil grabbed 11 and dished out a game-high five assists.
FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Wesleyan came out hot and jumped out to an 11-point lead, as the Cardinal's forced two early Bowdoin timeouts.
- The lead was short-lived, however, as the Polar Bears scored 14 unanswered points to take a 27-24 lead with 7:40 to play before the break.
- Bowdoin held an advantage for most of the next several minutes until a lay-up by Davis at the 2:24 mark knotted the game at 33-33.
- Blake Gordon broke the tie with a three-pointer in the closing seconds as Bowdoin took a 36-33 advantage at halftime.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Both teams went back-and-forth early in the second half, but Wesleyan was unable to regain a lead.
- A 12-2 run by Bowdoin put the home team ahead by 16 (58-42) with 11:21 remaining on the clock.
- The stretch proved to be the difference-maker as the deficit was too much to overcome for the Cardinals.

- Wesleyan is back in action tomorrow, Feb. 13 for another NESCAC road game as it faces off against Colby at 3 p.m.
- Bowdoin will host Connecticut College tomorrow at 3 p.m., with the winner earning a bid to the conference tournament.
