MIDDLETOWN, Conn.- The Wesleyan University men's ice hockey team faced off against Trinity College on Saturday afternoon at Spurrier Snyder Rink, and were defeated by a score of 5-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bantams scored three goals in the first period, two of which came on the power play.
- The Cardinals committed six penalties in the game while Trinity committed five.
- Trinity was able to score three goals in the first and two in the second.
- Nolan Daley '16 made 27 saves for the Cardinals.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Trinity got off to a quick start, scoring just 20 seconds into the game as Elie Vered took the Michael O'Brien pass and got it past Daley.
- The Cardinals would go down two men, and the Bantams would take full advantage of the six on four opportunity as Sean Orlando took passes from Tyler Whitney and Michael Hawkrigg and snuck it past Daley at 8:15 in the first. The Cardinals would be able to kill off the second power play.
- The Bantams took advantage of the extra man yet again as Whitney was able to deflect the puck past Daley with 13:05 gone by in the first. Orlando and Hawkrigg were given assists on the goal.
- Playing four on four due to coincidental roughing penalties, the Bantams were able to extend their lead to five as Ryan Cole took passes from Anthony Sabitsky and Tyler Whitney and got one past Daley at 13:52.
- At 8:48 in the third, Vincent Lima '19 was able to get one past Trinity goaltender Alex Morin for the Cardinals lone goal of the game.
- The Bantams would defeat Wesleyan 5-1.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Prior to the game, the Cardinals honored their six seniors: Jay Matthews, Terence Durkin, Jaren Taenaka, Eric Casey, Alex Carlacci and Nolan Daley.
- Today marked the final game for Wesleyan, who finish the year with an overall record of 2-14-8, and a conference record of 2-9-7.
