HARTFORD, Conn.- Taylor Ghesquiere '18 recorded six points (5G, 1A) to highlight the day for the Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team as he helped guide the Cardinals to a 15-12 win over Trinity College Tuesday afternoon at Robin Sheppard Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams combined for 10 goals in the first quarter. Ryan Lynch '18 and Ghesquiere netted two goals a piece for the Cardinals, while Ryan DeSimone paced the Bantams offense with two goals.
- Trinity would go into halftime with a 9-7 lead, however Wesleyan would have the edge in shots on goal, 17-13 and groundballs, 14 to 11.
- The Cardinals outscored Trinity 4-2 in the third quarter to tie the game at 11.
- Using a fourth quarter run, Wesleyan took control of the game and went on to win, 15-12.
- Trinity outshot the Cardinals, 46-to-41, but Wesleyan was able to put more shots on cage, holding a 30-to-24 advantage.
- Ghesquiere led Wesleyan with five goals. Christian Barker '19 led the Cardinals with four helpers, while Quintin DellaFerra '16 assisted on three Cardinal goals.
- Ted Bergman '17 earned his eighth win of the season as he stopped 12 of 24 shots.
- DeSimone led all goal scorers with six on the afternoon for Trinity. Henry Coote was able to make 15 saves in net for the home team.
FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bantams would open the scoring as Desimone took a John Caraviello pass and put it past Bergman at 13:20 in the first.
- Wesleyan would respond with three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead. DellaFera, Lynch and Ghesquiere all notched unassisted goals.
- After two straight Bantams' goals to tie the game, the teams would then alternate the next four goals and end the quarter tied at five.
- Trinity would go on a mini run in the second, scoring three straight goals to give them a 9-6 lead.
- Niall Devaney '16 would score off a Barker pass with 58 seconds remaining in the half to send the teams into the half with Trinity up, 9-7.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Wesleyan would open up the third on a three goal run to regain the lead at 10-9, thanks to goals from Devaney, Barker and Greg Pietroforte '16.
- Trinity would respond with goals from Caraviello and Henry Pierandri to go ahead 11-10.
- With 56 seconds remaining in the quarter, Ghesquiere would net his fourth goal of the game to tie the game at 11.
- Three straight Harry Stanton '18 goals in the fourth, followed by a Ghesquiere goal sealed the deal for the Cardinals as they would go on to win, 15-12.
