MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The No. 11 Wesleyan University men's tennis team claimed doubles action, 2-1, but fell just short of upsetting No. 2 Bowdoin College Sunday as the Cardinals were edged by their NESCAC foes, 5-4.

DOUBLES HIGHLIGHTS
- The Cardinals won doubles action, 2-1.
- The duo of Zach Brint '16 and Greg Lyon '17 edged Luke Trinka and Luke Tercek, 9-8 (2) in the No. 1 position.
- In No. 3 doubles, Joachim Samson '19 and Sam Rudovsky '16 defeated Chase Savage and Gil Roddy decisively, 8-1.
SINGLES HIGHLIGHTS
- In singles play, Wesleyan won the No. 2 and No. 4 courts.
- Steven Chen '18 defeated Trinka in No. 2 singles after dropping the first set, 6-4. The sophomore responded with wins of 6-2 and 6-3 to take the match.
- In the No. 4 position, Samson claimed wins of 6-3 and 6-4 over Yangeng Jiang.
- Dhruv Yadav '18 came up short of a victory in No. 5 singles. Falling behind 1-0 after a 6-4 first set loss, he retaliated with a 7-5 win in the second set to even the match. However, Grant Urken swept the third set to earn the win, 6-0.
UP NEXT
- Wesleyan is back in action Saturday, April 9 and will host No. 17 Tufts at 1 p.m.
- The Polar Bears return to the courts Saturday as well and will host Hamilton at 2 p.m.
