CLAREMONT, Calif. – In its final match of a difficult Spring Break trip in California, the 10th-ranked Wesleyan University men's tennis team fell short against No. 8 Carnegie Mellon University on Friday, 6-3, at The Claremont Club.

The Cardinals competed against five top-15 teams—including four in the top-10—in the first week of dual match play in 2018. They are 1-4 overall on the year following Friday's loss while the Tartans improved to 9-5.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Seniors Steven Chen and Cam Daniels picked up the lone doubles win for Wesleyan as the duo claimed the No. 2 spot decisively, 8-2.
• In singles action, Daniels and Adrian Roji '21 earned wins in the No. 4 and No. 6 positions, respectively.
• Daniels edged Robert Leven in a thriller at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 7-6 (13-11).
• Roji took No. 6 singles with scores of 6-3, 6-3 over Ben Ash.
