CLINTON, N.Y. – The Wesleyan men's soccer team (5-5-3, 1-4-3) fell 1-0 to Hamilton (6-5-2, 3-3-2) in overtime on Saturday afternoon. This was the fourth-straight meeting decided in extra sessions, as the Cardinals hold a 6-5 edge in the series.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Hamilton looked to get on the board early when Roth Wetzel fired a shot just 49 seconds in, but Wesleyan's goaltender Liam Devanny denied the early chance.
- With 17:15 expired, Cardinal Nicholas Wallick had a great opportunity to give Wesleyan an edge, but his shot towards the top left corner was thwarted by Hamilton goalie Thomas Benson.
- The Continentals threatened during the 19th minute with back-to-back shots by Wetzel, but Devanny stopped both to keep the contest scoreless.
- Wesleyan's Medhi El Filali had a chance at the 37:22 mark, but his shot sailed just high of the crossbar.
- The second half saw even play with neither team having a quality opportunity to breakthrough, as the teams headed into extra sessions.
- The game-winner came just 1:10 into overtime. Hagop Kouchakdijian lofted the ball to Wood at the top of the box, before Wetzel one-timed the through ball from Wood into the upper right corner for the 1-0 victory.

- Devanny made six saves in goal for Wesleyan, while Benson made five stops to earn the win.
