HARRISON, N.Y. – Gabe Ravetz helped lead an impressive second half comeback as the Wesleyan men's basketball team defeated Purchase State in its first away game of the season Tuesday night, 85-74.

Ravetz, who scored 15 points off the bench on 4 of 8 shooting from deep, was clutch down the stretch as the Cardinals outscored the Panthers 21-7 in the final four minutes of action. With the win, they improve to 3-0 on the season while the Panthers drop to 0-3.

FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS:

• Purchase went on an 8-0 run early to go ahead 10-4, and led most of the half.
• Wesleyan trailed from the 17:19 to 8:46 mark until a layup from Sam Peek evened the score at 16-16.
• Minutes later, Antone Walker hit one from deep to tie the game again, 21-21, but the Panthers closed out the half on a 10-2 run to lead 31-23 at the break.

SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS:

• With 15:08 to play, Shackylle Dezonie hit a jumper to cut the deficit to two, 42-40. However, Eric Block answered with a 3-pointer just nine seconds later.
• Shortly after, Dezonie made a basket to get within three and Walker recorded a steal before finding an open Dezonie from deep, as the sophomore drilled it to even the score at 51-51 with 11:09 remaining.
• Once again, however, the Panthers responded with a 6-0 run over the next two minutes.
• Purchase would hold a lead until the 3:50 mark when Gabe Ravetz converted a four-point play to put the visitors ahead, 68-67.
• The Panthers regained a lead just under a minute later, but Ravetz hit back-to-back treys just 25 seconds apart to shit the momentum as the Cardinals took the lead and never looked back.
• Wesleyan outscored the Panthers 21-7 in the final four minutes en route to the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Joe DeLollo led Wesleyan with 20 points on 7 of 13 shooting while grabbing nine boards and blocking two shots. Dezonie added 15 points on 6 of 10 shooting, while Peek recorded a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. He also dished out a team-high three assists. Rounding out the top scorers for Wesleyan was Walker who dropped 10 while grabbing seven boards. 
• Elijah Lott led all scorers with 20 points, while also grabbing 12 rebounds, and Kyle Menard and Jorge Perdomo joined him in double-figure scoring with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Lott also recorded an incredible seven steals while dishing out a game-high six assists and blocking one shot.
• Tuesday's game featured eight lead changes and three ties. 
• Wesleyan held a commanding 58-44 rebounding advantage.
