HIGHLIGHTS:

- Potsdam took a 2-1 lead at the 11:52 mark. Joey Sollazzo stole the puck in transition, before scoring a short-handed tally through the five-hole.
- In the early minutes of the second frame, following coincidental penalties, the Bears skated five-on-three for over a minute, but a strong Wesleyan defense was able to kill off both penalties.
- With 6:52 expired, Potsdam nearly took a two-goal lead. A sprawling save by Wesleyan netminder Tim Sestak denied an initial shot by Brett Horn at the 6:48 mark. With Sestak still stretched across the crease, Vincent Guimond one-timed the rebound towards the goal, but Sestak got a piece of his blocker on the puck to thwart the chance.
- The Cardinals found the equalizer at the 11:11 mark of the second after Harris faked a shot at the top of the right faceoff circle, before sending a pass across the slot. Levine was on the left side to one time the feed, making it 2-2.
- With just 35 seconds remaining in the middle frame the Bears had a great opportunity to regain the lead, but Bryce Ferrell's shot was denied by a diving glove save from Sestak as the teams skated into the break knotted at two goals apiece.
- Out of the break, Fox gave the Cardinals a 3-2 edge during a power play at the 3:43 mark. He struck again with 9:18 expired when he beat a Potsdam defender in the slot, before tucking the puck inside the right pipe for the 4-2 advantage.
