MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Caleigh Ryan '22 matched her career-high with 24 points Saturday afternoon just a day after her teammate
Maddie Clark '22 matched her career-high of 22. Wesleyan wins both games in the Courtyard by Marriott Classic, defeating Sage by 22 this afternoon after a 16-point win over Hartwick last night.
The uber-efficient duo of Clark and Ryan combined for 45 points on 18-for-22 shooting on way to All-Tournament team honors. Clark was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field including three 3-pointers, while Ryan went 10-for-14, doing most of her work inside the arc. Wesleyan finishes 2-0 in the tournament and 3-1 overall. Sage's loss drops them to 3-3 on the year. In other Courtyard by Marriot Classic action, Hartwick defeated Albertus Magnus 64-50. Giuliana Pritchard led the way for the Hawks with 15 points and six rebounds.

FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- It was competitive for most of the first quarter with the score favoring the Cardinals 15-13 with 3:13 remaining before a 13-5 Wesleyan run to close out the quarter put them up 28-18.
- Sage made a small run, cutting the lead to as close as three. Clark and Ryan got going midway through the second quarter, combining to score 11 straight points to reopen the lead back up to 10 for the Cards
- Maggie Lee '23 added two jumpers near the end of the half for Wesleyan, before Clark put the exclamation point on a stellar quarter with a short jumper before the second half to bring the lead back to nine
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS:
- Wesleyan used a big 3rd quarter to pull away from the Gators, outscoring them 30-19
- The Cardinals opened up the half with a 12-2 run that included three 3-point jumpers by three different Cardinals players
- The lead ballooned to as 26, before Sage put together some quality offensive possessions to trim it back down to 20 going into the 4th
- Clark drilled another short jumper with 7:18 remaining, her last of the night. After Sage responded with a two of their own, Coach Mullen subbed Clark out along with the remaining starters for the rest of the game
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Ryan matches her career high with 24 points
- Clark had a career-high four blocks
- Ryan ranks top three in both scoring and rebounding in the NESCAC through four games
- Ryan and Clark made the All-Tournament team with Clark winning MVP
