MIDDLETOWN, CT- The women's swimming and diving team lost a home meet against nationally ranked Amherst Monday afternoon by a score of 190-99.
Olivia Stevenson '25 was the lone first place finisher for the Cardinals, winning the 500 Free with a time of 5:19.31 in a highly competitive race. With this loss, Wesleyan will move to 0-3 on the year, while Amherst improves to 2-0.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Wesleyan performed well in the 200 Free, having two top three finishers. Stevenson continued her stellar day with a 2nd place finish at a time of 2:00.15. Danielle Eforo '25 finished right behind her clocking in at 2:01.44
- Megan Bauerle '24 was the runner-up in the 50 Free, with a time of 25.47 that finished less than half-second behind the first-place finisher
- Zoe Paglia '23 also finished as a runner up, placing 2nd in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 205.12
- The Women's "B" 400 Free Relay put in a good performance in a 3:45.96 finish. The 100 free splits were Megan Bauerle (55.54), Amanda McHugh '22 (56.85), Jadyn George '25 (57.86), and Caitlin Chang '25 (55.71)
WHAT'S NEXT:
Wesleyan will take over a week off before their next meet. On December 4
th they will compete in the CT Cup which will be held in the Wesleyan Natatorium.
