Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Men’s Hockey Falls to No. 8 Endicott, 3-0

BEVERLY, MA – Men's hockey falls to nationally ranked Endicott 3-0 Tuesday night in Massachusetts. Wesleyan was able to outshoot the Gulls, however Endicott prevailed scoring a goal in each period on way to their 6-1-1 start to the year. Marc Smith '24 made 14 saves over 57 minutes, but the Cardinals drop their first game of the year moving to 1-1-1.
 
HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Wes opened up with an early power play opportunity, when Endicott's Drew Lorinchak was called for hooking only two minutes in. The Cardinals produced three shots, with only one on goal which was turned away by the Endicott goalkeeper
  •  Wesleyan had another man-up situation in the first period but were once again turned away on their two shot attempts. Endicott came back on the attack minutes later where they put through their first goal of the game. Svet Kuchynski beat Smith to put the Gulls up with five minutes remaining
  • The second period saw Endicott take advantage of 5 on 3, when Zach Mazur ripped one through with less than a minute left in the second period
  • Wesleyan couldn't take advantage of four powerplay chances in the final period, getting shutout for the first time this season. Endicott put the finishing touches on a 3-0 victory when Azan Dorsett put through his first goal of the season
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Marc Smith makes 14 saves, moving his season total to 34
  • Wesleyan is now 1-1-1 on the year
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
Wesleyan will return home to Snyder-Spurrier Rink to take on Adrian (5-1) Saturday the 27th.
