NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – The Wesleyan women's golf team put together a solid showing the the season opener as the Cardinals finished ninth out of 15 teams competing in the two-day Hamilton Fall Invitational.
Leading the way for Wesleyan, in her first career event, is first-year Milan Yorke '25 who posted an 80 on Saturday, followed by an 82 on Sunday to finish with a +16 (162). That was good enough to put Yorke in a tie for 20
th in the individual leaderboard. Danielle Landis '25 bounced back in a big way from her 92 on Saturday with a low round of the tournament for the Cardinals as she carded a 79 on Sunday, a 13-shot improvement between rounds, to finish +25 (171) for the event. Landis' 79 was the lone sub-80 stroke round for Wesleyan over the weekend.
Yet another first-year, Jacqueline Neishabouri '25 tied with Landis with a 171 for the tournament as she posted 89 on Saturday and an impressive 82 on Sunday. Rounding out the scoring was
Jessica Moy '24 and
Maggie Monaghan '24.
Next up for Wesleyan is a trip to Middlebury for the George Phinney Golf Classic from Saturday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 19.
