Men’s Hockey Defeated by Williams, 6-1

Wesleyan goes 1-1 on the weekend

MIDDLETOWN, CT – Men's hockey has their four-game win streak snapped at home against Williams Sunday afternoon, 6-1. The Cardinals held a 1-0 lead and only trailed 2-1 late in the 2nd period before the Ephs had an offensive explosion to put the game out of reach. Wesleyan drops to 5-4-1 (4-1-1 NESCAC), while Williams improves to 6-4-0 (6-2-0).

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Wesleyan continued their theme of scoring in the opening minutes Sunday afternoon when Jeremy Abraham '24 beat the Ehps goaltender to give the Cardinals an early lead
  • Williams responded less than five minutes later with the equalizer off the stick from Mac Carso off of a nice centering pass from Niko Karamanis. Wesleyan had multiple power play opportunities later in the period, but were unable to capitalize keeping the game tied going into the 2nd period
  • Faisal Alsaif ripped a slap shot that ended up in the back of the net to break the tie early in the 2nd period. He was set up off a pass from Connor Tobin. Later in the period it was Niko Karamanis' turn to score, as he extended the Ephs lead to 3-1 going into the 3rd
  • Williams broke it open in the 3rd period, scoring three more goals to total six on the day. The game got more physical down the stretch, resulting in three Wesleyan penalties. The second of those penalties resulted in the 6th and final goal for the Ephs
