MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's squash team suffered a 7-2 defeat at the hands of No. 16 ranked Bowdoin on Sunday morning from the Rosenbaum Squash Center. The Cardinals head into Thanksgiving break with an 0-3 record after the season-opening weekend.
More success came at the bottom of the Cardinal lineup as
Jaclyn Dichter '26 and
Julissa Mota '26 both found wins at #7 and #9, respectively. Dichter took down Mira Karande at #7 with a 13-11 victory in the third set to clinch a 3-0 sweep for the Cardinal freshman. Mota won her match at #9 over Frances Hornbostel in four sets, overcome a second set loss to win 11-6, 6-11, 11-6, 11-4.
Bowdon won six of their seven matches in 3-0 sweeps with
Laila Kewalramani '24 being the lone Cardinal to take a set off her opponent.
Wesleyan will return to the courts at Vassar from December 3-4 with matches against Middlebury, William Smith, and Vassar.
