BABSON PARK, Mass. – The No. 12 nationally-ranked Wesleyan women's lacrosse team cruised to a commanding 18-5 win over non-conference foe Babson on Sunday afternoon, in a rescheduled make-up game. Wesleyan (7-1) earns their second road win in as many days as the Cardinals took down Bowdoin 11-6 on Saturday. Babson (3-4) has lost four of their last five games after starting the season 2-0.
Receiving contributions from all across the lineup, 10 different Cardinals scored while 12 in total registered at least one point. The 18 goals are a new season-high for Wesleyan while the shot totals (31-10) swayed heavily in favor of the Cardinals, as did the turnover margin (+8 in favor of Wesleyan, 22-14).
Kendall Mittleman '23 led the way with six points (just one off her career-high) as she registered two goals while totaling a career-high four assists for the third time in eight games so far this season.

Kate Balicki '23 added three points (two goals, one assist) while
Chessy Greenwald '23 scored twice.
Indigo Pellegrini de Paur '21, G'22 grabbed a season-high seven draw controls, just one off her career-high. Both

Annabel Cincotta '25 tallied her first career assist.
Abby Wolk '22 earned her seventh win in the cage this season, making two saves on four Babson shots on-target in her 30 minutes of action.
Picking up from the originally scheduled contest, which was called off with Wesleyan leading 3-1 just over five minutes into play, the Cardinals took some time to get going but three late goals in the final three minutes of the first quarter made it 6-1 Wesleyan after one. Baine, Lai and Balicki scored, the last of which coming with just five seconds left in the period.
A 6-0 run to end the first quarter turned into a 15-1 run that extended deep into the third quarter, putting the game well out of reach. Wesleyan scored nine unanswered goals between the second and third quarters in the middle of that run capped by Riley's first career goal with 3:30 left in the third.
With the running clock rule in-effect throughout the entire second half, just four goals combined were scored in the fourth quarter but included in that was Gordon's first career goal with 3:10 remaining, coming off an assist from Riley that was also the first of her young career.
Wesleyan moves to 11-6 all-time against Babson while the Cardinals have beaten the Beavers in their last seven straight meetings dating back to 2015.
The Cardinals will have a week to prepare for a Saturday afternoon NESCAC showdown against Hamilton at home. The opening draw is set for Noon from Smith Field.
