POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Wesleyan women's golf team competed at the Vassar Invitational at the Casperkill Golf Club over the weekend and placed ninth out of 10 teams.
Jacqueline Neishabouri '25 was the top finisher on the weekend for the Cardinals as she shot 173 and was consistent in the two rounds, recording an 87 on Saturday before posting 86 on Sunday. Finishing in a tie for 37
th place, Neishabouri had a strong start with eight pars on round 1 including five in the front 9 while she followed six more pars in round 2.
Danielle Landis '25 had herself a strong showing as she shot 180 (91-89) for the two-day tournament to finish in a tie for 45
th place. Landis recorded eight pars on round 1 while she followed with five on Sunday in round 2 to complete her weekend.
Maggie Monaghan '24 shot a 186 (94-92) as she was the second-best Cardinal for the weekend. Monaghan managed a birdie on the fifth hole par 5 in round 1 on Saturday as she accounted for the lone birdie for Wesleyan in the tournament.
Lily Goldfine '24 also shot 186 (90-96) as the two finished in a tie for 51
st place.
Milan Yorke '25 followed up on a disappointing 100 in round 1, improving 11 strokes to post an 89 in round 2 as she rounded out the Cardinal lineup with a 189 for the two-day tournament.
Wesleyan is back in action next weekend with a trip to the Crumpin-Fox Club to compete in Amherst's Jack Leaman Invitational.
