Grace Devanny ’23 sets records in the 200m and 400m

CLINTON, NY- Women's track and field continues to set new school records this season, recording two new Wesleyan University records again during the NESCAC Outdoor Championships. Grace Devanny '23 continues to impress, breaking two more records in her showing on Saturday. Devanny set new marks for the 200m and 400m. This is the 2nd straight meet that she has broken the 200m school record, first breaking it at the Trinity Invitational a week ago, and now breaking her own record again in the NESCAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 24.41 seconds. Devanny helped her team to a 6th place finish out of 11 teams, scoring 48 total team points.

Devanny was once again the star of the day, placing 1st in one individual event (400m) and one team event (4 x 400m relay) while placing 2nd in the 200m. In the 400m, she set a new school record with a time of 55.01 seconds which was over two seconds faster than the 2nd place finisher. She also set a Wesleyan school record in the 200m, finishing 2nd with a time of 24.41 seconds that only trailed Malissa Lindsey of Connecticut College.
