MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. – The host Cardinals showed very well at the Wesleyan Invitational over the weekend played at the Jones Course at Lyman Orchards. Wesleyan's top squad finished as the runner-up for the seven-team field while the Cardinals' 'B' squad finished in fifth place.
The top individual performer for the weekend was
Kayla Howell '26 on the Wesleyan 'B' squad as she shot 84-82-166 (+22) in the two-round tournament to finish in a tie for fifth place overall.
Leading the Wesleyan squad to second place was
Chanel Hong '26 who fired a +23 (85-82-167) to finish in a tie for seventh place in the player leaderboard. Also landing a Top 10 finish was
Danielle Landis '25 who went for a +24 (83-85-168) which was good enough for a tie for ninth place.
Mia Bardinelli '26 was just one stroke behind Landis, finishing with a +25 (86-83-168) which landed her in a tie for 11
th place. Rounding out the Wesleyan lineup was
Jacqueline Neishabouri '25 (83-90-173) and
Maggie Monaghan '24 (92-82-174) who shaved 10 strokes off her first round performance, as her second round 82 was tied for the low round of the tournament by the Cardinal contingent.
Rosie Leonard '26 also showed well for the Wesleyan 'B' squad as she was the fifth-best Cardinal on the weekend, shooting +27 (87-84-171) to finish in 13
th place overall.
Wesleyan continues on with their fall schedule at the Williams Invitational next weekend.
