MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's track & field team hosted the 2023 Little Three Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals placed third in the competition with 55 points while Amherst took the crown with 153 points and Williams was second with 136.
The Cardinals' one mile contingent had the most-successful outing of the day as
George Lepska '25 and
Nate Fogarty '25 placed second and third, respectively, out of 14 runners. Lepska ran the one mile in 4:21.41, a career-best performance for the sophomore, while Fogarty also clocked in with a personal-best time of 4:22.61.
Patrick Schechtman-Taylor '26 impressed with a third place result in the 200m, crossing the line in 24.47 seconds.
Owen Rogers '24 was Top 10 in the 3000m, earning an eighth place result with a time of 8:56.86.
Javier Orellana '25 was third-best in the shot put as he threw 12.60m to take third place out of 14 competitors. Remi Hayes'Messinger '26 was right behind Orellana in fourth place with a mark of 12.17m.
Wesleyan placed second in the 4x800m relay as the team of
Liam Calhoun '26, Fogarty,
Bruce Lenes '26, and
Luke Consolati '25 clocked in at 8:15.06. The Cardinals' 4x400m relay team earned third place as
Emmett Perry '25,
Kyle Roshankish '24,
Jonah Rosenthal '25, and
Alex Geula '25 combined to clock in at 3:36.77.
Wesleyan will next head to the Ocean Breeze Invite on Friday, January 20.
