SPRINGFIELD, MA. – It was an all-star performance for the Wesleyan men's track and field team on Saturday afternoon, finishing second of 34 teams at the New England DIII Championships while walking away with three event champions and a new school record from the Blake Track at Springfield College.

HIGHLIGHTS
- WPI won the 2026 New England DIII Championship with 115 points. The Cardinals and UMass Dartmouth tied for second with 56 points.
- Placing first in the 4x400m relay, Reese Connors '29, Steve Paul '28, August Doetsch '29, and Hyatt Hicks '28 broke a week-old school record in the event, running a combined 3:16.79. The team surpassed the previous record time of 3:20.30 set at the 2026 NESCAC Championships.
- Noah Mahoney '27 returned to form in the 10,000m, crossing the finish line in first place with a leading time of 31:20.88.
- In the 1500m, Liam Calhoun '26 was the first runner across the line with a top time of 3:58.25. Alex Kermath '26 placed third at 3:58.91 while Knox Wallask '29 was fifth at 4:00.76.
- Emmett Leachman '29 ran a 15:16.72 in the 5000m, earning third place as one of the Cardinals' Top 5 finishes on the weekend.
- Placing fourth in the 4x800m relay, Ben Taffett '26, Daniel Manning '28, Sam Benham '27, and Wallask ran a 7:55.99.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, May 8, for the Farley Inter Regional at Williams College.
