MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Up by one goal with less than minute remaining in regulation, the Wesleyan men's soccer team was forced to a 1-1 draw with No. 22 Amherst College on Saturday afternoon at Citrin Field.

Zack Burd '25, awarded a free kick after being fouled by Amherst's Ryan Gomez, sailed a shot from out left over the crowd in front of the Mammoths (7-2-2 overall, 4-1-2 NESCAC) goal that bent back into the right corner.
The win was 21 seconds away, but Laurens Ten Cate found the back of the net with time to spare as Cardinals goalkeeper
Mathis Blanc '26 made a last ditch effort to the right.
