WELLESLEY, Mass. –
Olivia Quinn '26 stuffed the stat sheet and led the Wesleyan women's basketball team to a 63-54 road win over Wellesley on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals improve to 2-1 on the season while the Blue drop to 1-3.
Quinn pumped in 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting including a 5-for-6 showing from three-point range while she added five rebounds, two blocks, and two steals to her totals in 31 minutes She hit three of her five three-pointers in the third quarter alone which proved to be the difference in the end as the Cardinals outscored the Blue 22-12 in the period.
A strong start to the game for the Cardinals had Wesleyan leading 18-10 after the first quarter of play. Wesleyan shot 50 percent (8-16 FG) from the floor in the first while Wellesley managed just a 31.3 percent showing on their field goal attempts. Quinn put in eight of the Cardinals' 18 points, hitting both of her three-point attempts, to give the Cardinals an early lead.
The second quarter was back-and-forth as Wellesley tied the score at 25 apiece with 2:30 left before halftime, but Wesleyan scored seven unanswered points before the end of the half.

Tori DaCosta '25 chased in for second chance points on an offensive rebound as Wesleyan led 32-25 at the break.
Wesleyan carried that momentum into the second half as Quinn hit a three on the first Cardinal possession of the third quarter. The Cardinals' lead swelled to 18 points on another Quinn triple, extending the Wesleyan run to 19-1 before the Blue hit their first field goal in more than seven minutes of play. Quinn hit again from deep with 2:30 left in the frame, giving Wesleyan their biggest lead of the game at 52-30.
Armed with a 54-37 lead entering the fourth quarter, Wesleyan built up enough of a lead to overcome shooting woes as the Cardinals went just 4-for-17 from the floor in the fourth quarter to finish the game. Despite the shooting woes, Wellesley could only cut the deficit to eight points with 2:59 remaining, as the Cardinal defense held down the stretch to close out the 63-54 win.
DaCosta finished in double figures with 10 points and five rebounds in 25 minutes. Jones flirted with a triple-double as she totaled six points, matched a career-high with eight rebounds, and dished out seven assists to go along with two steals.
