MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's squash team suffered a 7-2 defeat to No. 20 ranked Middlebury before rebounding with a 9-0 win over Vassar to close out a three-match weekend in the Rosenbaum Squash Center.
Wesleyan battled against the Panthers, forcing five of the nine matches into at least a fourth set, with the two wins coming from the #1 and #2 positions.
Nimai Kini '26 dropped the first set to Caleb Boateng 11-8 at #1, but came storming back in a big way, earning wins in three straight sets 11-6, 11-3, 11-8 to take the victory.
Toby Goldston '24 played a match that lasted over an hour, ultimately triumphing in five sets over Kian Kardestuncer at #2. Goldston won the first set 11-7 but dropped the next two 11-4, 11-1. The fourth set required extra points but Goldston held his nerve and closed out a 15-13 win. That momentum carried over into the fifth set where he dominated to the tone of a 11-5 victory.

The afternoon match against the Brewers was one-sided, as Wesleyan managed sweeps across the lineup. Kini's match at #1 took the longest as his 11-9, 11-7, 13-11 win over Rithik Jalai required 37 minutes. Goldston continued to battle despite the lengthy match against Middlebury, ultimately prevailing 11-8, 5-11, 11-9, 11-8 over Jay Vashisht at #2. Shah, Crawford,
