MEDFORD, Mass. – Competing in a 20-team field in less-than-ideal weather conditions, the Wesleyan men's track & field team managed a ninth-place finish on Saturday at the Tufts Snowflake Classic.
Owen Rogers '24 impressed for the Cardinals, winning the 10,000m in his first time running in the event in his career. Rogers legged out a 32:08.79 to beat the runner-up finisher by just over four seconds, as the junior topped a field of 14 competitors.
Sam Musto '24 scored point in the 200m, placing sixth overall out of 53 sprinters with a time of 23.76 seconds.
Jonah Rosenthal '25 also showed well in the same event, running in 24.32 seconds, good enough for 13
th place.
A pair of Cardinals placed in the 400m, with Rosenthal taking seventh (52.20 seconds) while
Kyle Roshankish '24 was 0.01 seconds behind Rosenthal in eighth place at 52.21 seconds.
One of the strongest track events of the day for Wesleyan was the 1500m as
Alex Kermath '26 led a 12-man Cardinal contingent that ran in the event.
Bruce Lenes '26 also picked up points with his seventh place showing (4:12.45).
Will Wise '26 placed ninth overall (4:14.11) while Fogarty was 11
th (4:14.16).
Liam Calhoun '26 continued a great day for the distance runners, placing fourth in the 5000m with a time of 15:09.70.
Philip Keith '25 was 11
th-best in the same event, crossing the line in 16:08.98.
Wesleyan's 4x400m relay team shined, placing second overall in a field of 12 teams as
Alex Geula '25,
Luke Consolati '25,
Ben Taffet '26, and
Owen Zinn-Keane '26 managed a time of 3:33.04 to take the runner-up spot.
Nick Carulli '23 was sixth-fastest in the 110m hurdles preliminary, finishing in 17.35 seconds.
Nate Fogarty '25 was one spot out of scoring in the 800m, finishing in ninth place with a time of 2:01.90.
Patrick Schechtman-Taylor '26 placed 12
th in the 100m dash preliminaries with a time of 12.01 seconds.
Next up for the Cardinals is a trip to Amherst on Saturday.
