No. 27 Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 2 Tufts in Regular Season Finale

SOMERVILLE, Mass. – The No. 27 ranked Wesleyan men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to defending NESCAC Champion and No. 2 ranked Tufts on Saturday afternoon. Wesleyan finishes the regular season with a 7-9 record (3-7 NESCAC) and will face the top-seeded Jumbos (18-0, 10-0 NESCAC) in the NESCAC Quarterfinal round on Friday.

Wesleyan gave Tufts some trouble in doubles play, with Tai MacDonald '26 and Max Lustgarten '25 making Alex Ganchev and Jack Moldenhauer work in an 8-6 defeat at #3. JT Bilski '26 and Ben Mitchell '24 also competed in an 8-5 loss to Derin Acaroglu and Vuk Vuksanovic at #1.

Singles play was dominated by the Jumbos, who won five of the six matches in straight sets with the Cardinals winning more than three games in a set in just one of those matches.

Chase Kasday '26, however, dominated Josh Belandres at #5 singles as the freshman put together a 6-3, 6-3 win.

Wesleyan looks to rebound against the Jumbos in postseason play on Friday with the location to-be-determined at either Middlebury or Williams.
