MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – In just his second start of the season, goalkeeper
Josh Nadison '26 made a season-high five saves for the Wesleyan men's soccer team as they fell 2-0 in NESCAC action to No. 15 Middlebury College on Saturday afternoon from Dragone Field.
Facing a season-high and career-high 15 shots in goal, Nadison held down the Cardinals' (3-2-3 overall, 0-2-3 NESCAC) defense, only allowing two goals against. Nadison robbed the Panthers (6-0-2 overall, 3-0-2 NESCAC) of two scoring opportunities early into the first half and shut the Panthers down completely through the first 45 minutes of play.
Chris Porte '25 lent Nadison a helping hand, denying the Panthers a final chance as the clock ticked into halftime.
Porte and
Yousuf Saeed '27 both had quality scoring opportunities in the second half as Saeed's shot snuck just shy of the right post for a save by Panthers goalkeeper Ryan Grady. Porte's near tally came off a corner kick header with Grady making the save again.
Anthony Avallone '27 had the Cardinals' third shot on goal of the afternoon.
Jordan Saint-Louis and Colin Dugan led the Panthers with a goal apiece as Grady finished the afternoon in goal with three saves.
The Cardinals return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 3, when they travel to Western Connecticut State for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
