MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's track & field team hosted the Little Three Championships on Saturday at the Bacon Field House. The Cardinals tallied 74 points on the day to take third place while Amherst claimed the title with 153 points ahead of runner-up Williams who totaled 121.
Juliette Sullivan '27 continued to shine early on in her career, recording a pair of runner-up finishes in the 60m and 200m. She started with an impressive 7.99 seconds in the 60m, finishing just 0.02 seconds behind the winner, Heloise Hughes of Amherst. Then in the 200m, Sullivan recorded a time of 26.57 seconds to take second place, trailing the winner Cate Donaldson of Williams by only 0.15 seconds. Sullivan rounded out her day with a fifth-place finish in the long jump, recording a team-best 5.11m.
Kate Hausladen '23 showed well in the 400m, taking third place with a time of 1:03.51.
Margaret Stevens '27 posted a time of 3:14.62, earning a third-place finish in the 1000m.
Jane Kakalec '26 took fourth place in the 600m with a time of 1:51.61.
Virginia Lustenberger '26 also placed fourth, finishing the 800m in 2:36.79.
Stephanie Ager '26 earned three points for the Cardinals with her fourth-place finish in the one mile, finishing in 5:22.04.
In the field events,
Emilia Thornton '24 came just 0.04m away from her personal-best, throwing 11.23m to take third place.
Fiona Carroll '25 was fourth-best in the pole vault with a mark of 3.25m.
Claire Edwards '24 placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 9.19m.
Next up for the Cardinals is a trip to the Ocean Breeze Invite in Staten Island on Friday, January 19.
