MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Lead by
Izzy Paez '26 with two individual event wins, the Wesleyan women's swimming and diving team fell to Colby College on Saturday afternoon, 178-120, at the Webster Family Natatorium. Wesleyan took six individual event wins and one relay win on the afternoon.
Paez won the 200-yard butterfly with a final time of 2:09.94 before going on to win the 100-yard butterfly with a clocked time of 58.54.
Olivia Stevenson '25 won the 1,000-yard freestyle distance event, touching the wall at 11:02.08.
Zoe Kuhn '26 took first place in the 200-yard freestyle, coming in at 1:58.28. In the 100-yard breaststroke,
Sara Bohacek '26 finished first at 1:08.75. And
Bella Kellner '24 won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.66.
In the 1,000-yard free,
Elena Baird '26 finished third behind Stevenson with a time of 11:19.59. And coming in fourth was
James LaCroix '27 with a final 11:26.28. Behind Kuhn in the 200-yard free, Kellner placed fifth with a time of 2:02.39.
Anne Conway '26 placed fourth in the 50-yard free at 26.07 and also placed fourth in the 100-yard free with a 56.41.
Jadyn George '25 followed in fifth place in the 100-yard free, coming in at 57.51. Stevenson took second in the 500-yard free at 5:19.94. Behind her,
Izzy Pennington '24 took third at 5:22.02 and Kuhn was fifth with a 5:24.76.
Pennington took third place in the 100-yard back, coming in with a final time of 3:59.30. In the 200-yard back,
Victoria Carroll '24 finished in third place with a 2:13.45 and
Lydia Brutvan '25 finished in fifth place, swimming a final 2:17.68.
Taking fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke,
Nora Bootchk '26 swam a 1:11.65 behind Bohacek. And in the 200-yard breaststroke,
Sadie Woodruff '26 swam a final 2:38. 11 for fourth place.
While Paez won the fly events, Baird placed second behind her in the 200-yard fly at 2:16.0. In fourth place,
Maya Milrod '24 finished with a final 2:22.84. In the 100-yard fly, Carroll took a fourth-place finish, swimming a 1:02.46.
In the 400-yard individual medley, Brutvan placed fourth, clocking a final time at 4:49.40. Baird placed fifth at 4:59.13.
In the 1-meter diving event,
Stella Oman '26 placed fourth, finishing with a final score of 180.15.
Sophie Taubman '25 placed fifth with a score of 149.70. In the 3-meter event, Taubman finished in fourth place, scoring a 152.77. Oman placed fifth with a 148.80.
For the 200-yard medley relay, a combined team of Carroll, Bohacek, Paez, and Kuhn took third place, finishing with a 1:51.60. In fourth, Pennington, Bootchk, Conway, and Kellner swam a 1:52.08.
Taking first in the 200-yard freestyle relay, Conway, Kuhn, Kellner, and Pennington swam a final 1:40.65. In second place, Paez, Stevenson, Bohacek, and
Eloise Lavacek '24 combined for a 1:46.04. And in third, Milrod, LaCroix,
Elle Immel '26, and
Caitlin Chang '25 finished with a 1:48.83.
The Cardinals return to the pool on Saturday, Feb. 3, when they host Connecticut College at 2 p.m.
