WATERFORD, CT. – In their final run before the NESCAC Championships, the Wesleyan women's cross country team made a showing at the Connecticut College Invite on Saturday morning from Harkness Memorial State Park.
Face 37 teams, the Cardinals placed 28
th as they finished with 270 points. MIT won the event (83) while the top five comprised of NYU (101), Williams (106), Washington and Lee (198), and Amherst (211).
The women's blue championship race was made up of 277 runners on the 6k course. Leading the Cardinals in the blue race,
Sofia Magnera '28 ran a 23:12.5 for placement at 115.
Maggie Smith '27 was the next to cross the finish line, coming in at 160 with a clocked time of 23:47.5. Just four spots back,
Oona Vali '27 placed at 165 finalized by a time of 23:57.2.
Grace Bell '28 was the final Cardinal to place in the Top 200 at 198 and a time of 24:35.1.
Next up for the Cardinals is the NESCAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Cardinals will have two weeks to prepare before heading to Bowdoin College.
