BRUNSWICK, ME. – Just one spot shy of the nation's Top 10, the No. 11 Wesleyan women's soccer team continued their unbeaten streak with a 1-0 NESCAC shutout over Bowdoin College on Saturday afternoon, pulling away from the competition as they sit on top of the NESCAC.
Now 12 games without a loss, the Cardinals (10-0-2 overall, 6-0-2 NESCAC) continue a historic season with their ninth shutout thanks to a late goal by freshman
Meredith Feiner '28. Feiner's unassisted game-winning goal, her third goal of the season, came in the 84
th minute of regulation after the Cardinals had already had 12 shots on the Polar Bears (2-6-5 overall, 1-6-1 NESCAC) with 10 in the second half alone.
The offense was led by
Katie O'Connell '25 with five recorded shots on goal, her last just minutes before Feiner was able to angle the ball behind Charlotte Iannone. Kayley Huleatt countered on the other side with four shots on
Molly Brumbach '26 through 90 minutes of action.
Making six saves in goal for the Cardinals, Brumbach earns her eighth shutout of the season. Brumbach leads the NESCAC in shutout wins. Iannone finished the afternoon with eight saves for the Bears in the opposite goal.
The Cardinals return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when they travel to Rhode Island College for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
