AMHERST, Ma. – The Wesleyan men's soccer team fell to No. 15 Amherst College on Saturday afternoon in 1-0 NESCAC loss from Amherst's Hitchcock Field.
The 5-3-2 Cardinals (2-3-2 NESCAC) took a hit early in the game as the Mammoths (7-1-2 overall, 4-1-1 NESCAC) put a goal on the board just over eight minutes into play. Coming off a corner kick opportunity, Amherst's Simon Kalinouskas was able to angle the ball behind goalkeeper

For the remainder 81 minutes, the Cardinals defense and Blanc held the Mammoths without any additional goals and only six shots on goal. Blanc finished the afternoon with five saves in goal for the Cardinals. For the Mammoths, Trey Sheppard finished in goal with two saves.
Calder Truesdale '28 led the Cardinals with three total shots, but it was
Yousuf Saeed '27 and
Lucas Ruehlemann '25 that were stopped by Sheppard with a shot on goal apiece.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12, when they host Williams College at Jackson field for a 3 p.m. NESCAC kickoff to celebrate their seniors.
