BRUNSWICK, ME. – The Women's cross country team had another stellar performance at the NESCAC Championships on Saturday morning as the team, led by
Stephanie Ager '26, finished middle of the pack in fifth place with four runners placing in the Top 50 and nine in the Top 100 from Bowdoin College's Pickard Field Cross Country Course.
Williams College won the event with 35 points. The Top 5 was comprised of Amherst (87), Tufts (93), Middlebury (111), and Wesleyan (138). Rounding out the final six placements are Conn. (140), Hamilton (198), Bates (213), Bowdoin (237), Colby (250), and Trinity (308). Middlebury's Audrey MacClean won the individual event with a 20:21.15.
Leading off the Cardinals with a career-best third-place finish was Ager. Jumping three spots from last year's sixth-place finish, Ager shaved nearly two minutes off her 2023 time and crossed the finish line at 20:48.58, a new career-best in the women's 6k out of 157 runners. Ager earns All-NESCAC First Team honors, her third All-NESCAC selection.
Coming in second for the Cardinals with a 20
th place finish is
Jordan Walter '25. Crossing the finish line at 21:37.18, Walter set a new career record in the women's 6k, cutting almost a minute off last years' time. Walter was an All-NESCAC selection in 2023.
The first of the Cardinals' talented freshmen to cross the finish line was
Chase Cerrell '28. Cerrell placed 28
th with a clocked final time of 21:45.93, a new personal-best time. In 47
th,
Alexandra Simon '27 also ran a personal best time in the event, coming in with a final 22:13.53.
Virginia Lessner '28, the second of the freshmen, placed 55
th (22:20.01 PR).
Margaret Stevens '27 placed 59
th (22:26.33 PR),
Rose Halford '27 placed 81
st (22:50.26 PR),
Sofia Magnera '28, the final freshman to cross, placed 95
th (23:03.66), and
Nadia Lim '26 closed the Top 100 at 99
th (23:09.48).
The Cardinals will have two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Mideast Regional race on Saturday, Nov. 16, in Waterford, CT.
