MIDDLETOWN, CT. – The 2024-25 track and field season began on Saturday, Dec. 7, for the Wesleyan women's track and field team as they picked up three first-place victories while hosting the Wesleyan Winter Invite from the Bacon Field House.
The Cardinals saw three individuals take home wins on Saturday to kick off the season. The first victory of the morning went to
Maggie Smith '27. Smith claimed first place in the 3000m event, crossing the finish line with a clocked time of 11:12.60.
Stephanie Ager '26 picked up right where she left off with cross country, placing first in the 5000m event with a final clocked time at 17:09.74.
In the field events,
Kate DiTullio '28 won the triple jump, recording a final distance of 10.24m. Placing third behind DiTullio was
Naomi McGadney '27 in third at 9.57m.
In the 400m race,
Imagen Walters '26 placed second with a time of 1:03.92.
Julia Schoenbrodt '28 placed fourth at 1:06.01.
Stella Loezos '27 placed second in the women's mile, crossing the line at 5:40.09. In third place,
Samantha Sheahan '28 ran a 5:41.55 final.
Running a 10.23 in the 60m hurdles,
Mia Kjaer '28 took second place. DiTullo took third with a time of 10.48. Fourth place went to McGadney, running a 10.54.
The Cardinals return to action after the holiday break when they compete in the Suffolk Ice Breaker Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 11.
