HARTFORD, CT. – JT Bilksi '26 and
Ben Mitchell '24 led the charge with a combined doubles win and singles victories for the Wesleyan men's tennis team as they competed in a NESCAC matchup at Trinity College that saw Wesleyan fall to the No. 39 team in a 5-4 defeat on Saturday morning.
The No. 1 doubles pairing of Bilski and Mitchell saw the duo take down E. Sanchez-Carrion and Jack Ginter in a 8-1 victory for the Cardinals. In the No. 1 singles spot, Bilski went three sets with Sanchez-Carrion as Sanchez-Carrion took set one in a 7-6 tiebreaker before Bilski came back in set two with a 6-4 win and a final 7-5 victory. Mitchell in the No. 2 spot defeated Pierce Rutledge in a 6-3, 6-1 match win.
Max Litton '26 came away with the final singles win of the day for the Cardinals at No. 5 as he finished Kartik Erodula with a final 6-3, 6-1 score. The Bantams took the No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6 singles points.
At No. 2 doubles,
Chase Kasday '26 and
Max Lustgarten '25 fell to Rutledge and Luca Garbati 8-5. And in the No. doubles position,
Brett Keeling '27 and Litton were defeated by Rico Buoro and Brandon Felcher, 8-5.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, April 6, when they host Tufts at the John Wood Memorial Courts beginning at 2 p.m.
