OAKLAND, ME. – The Wesleyan women's tennis team is undefeated with one game to go in the regular season with a perfect 14-0 record as they came away with another win over Colby College on Sunday morning, defeating the Mules 6-3 as they hold the top seat in the NESCAC at 9-0.
Lane Durkin '27 and
Renna Mohsen-Breen '25 built upon yesterday's doubles win at No. 3 and came away with their second of the weekend, defeating Amelia Gal and Elli Gershaw, 8-0. The No. 1 doubles pairing of
Caitlyn Ferrante '24 and
Sarah Youngberg '26 picked up the second point of the morning for the Cardinals with a 8-4 win over Sydney Landau and Sam Riordan.
Mohsen-Breen was the first to finish her match at No. 6 singles, defeating Gal again with a final score at 6-2, 6-1. Mohsen-Breen is 14-0 in singles play this season.
Durkin pulled off a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Michaela Landry in the No. 5 spot for the Cardinals. Youngberg was next, making quick work of Landau at No. 2 as she finished with a final 6-1, 6-1 match win. The final point of the match went to
Jackie Soloveychik '27 at No. 4 as she went 6-2, 6-1 against Jade Finestone for the match win.
Leila Epstein '25 went three sets with Gershaw, taking set one but Gershaw won set two and finished the match with a final 6-4, 3-6, 0-1 (3-10).
The Cardinals return home for the regular season finale on Sunday, April 28, when they host Conn. College at 2 p.m. at the John Wood Memorial Tennis Courts.
