MIDDLETOWN, CT. – The Wesleyan women's tennis team, lead by
Lane Durkin '27 and Renna Mohsen Breen '25, came away with their ninth win of the season in 6-3 victory over No. 13 Tufts University on Saturday morning, continuing their undefeated overall record as they advance to 4-0 in the NESCAC.
Durkin and Mohsen-Breen opened the match as the No. 3 doubles pairing, defeating Steffy Jullian and Sophie Wax 8-6. At No. 1,
Caitlyn Ferrante '24 and
Sarah Youngberg '26 put away another victory for the Cardinals as they also came away with a 8-6 win over Zoe Kava and Rebecca Lim. The Jumbos' Natalie Hu and Stephanie Woodbury defeated
Leila Epstein '26 and
Jackie Soloveychik '27 8-6 as the No. 2 matchup.
Soloveychik came away with the first singles win for the Cardinals, defeating Lucy Mitchell 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 4 spot. Coming off her doubles victory with Mohsen-Breen, Durkin claimed a win at No. 5, defeating Hu in a 6-4, 7-5 match. Mohsen-Breen earned her own singles victory at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-1 match win over Jullian. Epstein closed out the scoring for the Cardinals at No. 3, going three sets as Wax took set one 6-4 before Epstein came back 6-4, 6-3.
The Jumbos took home wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
The Cardinals return to action on Sunday, April 7, when they host Bates at the John Wood Memorial Courts beginning at 10:30 a.m.
