SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Wesleyan women's track & field team competed in the Division III New England Championships this weekend hosted by Mount Holyoke College. The Cardinals totaled 13 team points to finish in a tie for 22
nd place out of 36 teams.
Leading the way for the Cardinals was
Alexandra Simon '27 in the 3000m steeplechase, who shaved more than 18 seconds off her personal-best time with a new mark of 11:08.33, which earned her third place out of 17 in the event.
Jordan Walter '25 placed eighth out of 20 runners in the 1500m with her time of 4:42.04.
Margaret Stevens '27 had a Top 10 finish in the 5000m as the first-year placed seventh out of 21, crossing the line in 18:03.56.
Kate Hausladen '23 landed in ninth place out of 25 in the 400m hurdles as she finished in 1:06.20.
Juliette Sullivan '27 posted a mark of 5.28m in the long jump, finishing in seventh place out of 17.
Sophia Mack '26 ran a sub-1 minute time in the 400m, as the sophomore clocked in at 59.34 seconds to place 14
th out of 29 in the event.
Nadia Lim '26 joined Simon in the steeplechase, clocking in at 11:46.67 to place 11
th.
Claire Edwards '24 threw 36.30m in the discus, finishing in 14
th place out of 23.
Naomi McGadney '27 competed in the heptathlon and placed seventh out of 13 competing, totaling 3677 points.
Next up for Wesleyan is the Open New England Championships as athletes from all three NCAA Divisions will be competing on May 10-11.
