CLINTON, N.Y. – Hitting the road for a Saturday afternoon NESCAC matchup, the Wesleyan women's soccer team put away a 2-1 triumph over Hamilton College to pick up their first conference win as they were fueled by a freshmen duo of
Sheridan Snow '28 and
Meredith Feiner from Love Field.
Snow and Feiner each collected their second goal of the season, the pair leading the Cardinals (3-0-0 overall, 1-0-0 NESCAC) in scoring through three games. The Cardinals were an unrelenting offensive power through both halves, posting 12 shots on goal as they outshot the Continentals (1-2-1 overall, 0-2-1 NESCAC)18-8.
Opening the scoring for the Cardinals with just two minutes of action underway, Snow ripped a shot behind Continentals goalie Nieve Tonna. Snow, one of four players that engaged in all 90 minutes of action, has knocked out all three starting performances.
Midway through the second half, Feiner gave the Cardinals a two-goal lead as she found the back of the net on a second attempt on goal. A previous chance just a minute earlier was saved by Tonna inside the box. The Cardinals missed out on another shutout as the Continentals were able to score on
Molly Brumbach '26, a goal by Isabel Harvey at 80:30.
Brumbach finished the afternoon with just one save in goal for the Cardinals. Tonna finished with 10.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Sept. 21, when they host Bates College at 11 a.m. at Jackson Field.
