MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Steph Ager '26 is back on top where she belongs, winning the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday morning as the Wesleyan women's cross country team played host to nine teams, placing fourth out of the field from the Wes Fuhrman Trails Cross Country Course.
Despite Ager's first-place finish, the Cardinals fell to fourth place with 77 points. Amherst (46) won the invitational as Vassar (68) and Tufts (69) fell ahead of the Cardinals. Rounding out the final teams were Smith (168), Wellesley (170), Suffolk (MA) (180), Union (N.Y.) (202), Endicott (262), and New Haven (278).
Ager crossed the finish line on home turf with a 21:12.55 as she kept pace through the course with a 5:41 mile. Finishing in sixth place,
Jordan Walter '25 ran a 21:55.30 as she kept a 5:53 mile.
Alexandra Weingerd '28 closed the Top 20, clocking a 22:25.69 and a 6:01 mile.
Several more Cardinals finished within the Top 50, including

rd with a 22:30.77.
Alexandra Simon '27 placed 29
th at 22:42.78.
Sofia Magnera '28 finished 38
th at 23:05.04. And
Chase Cerrell '28 placed 41
st at 23:10.29.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, when they travel for the NCAA Pre-National Championship.
