WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. – The Wesleyan women's cross country team opened the 2024 season with a showing in the Little Three Championship with a third place finish as they competed against Amherst College and Williams College on Saturday morning.
Amherst won the event with 30 points. They were followed by Williams in second with 34 points, and Wesleyan finished third with 68 points. Amherst's Flora Biro won the event with a 15:07.7 final time.
Ager '26 crossed the finish line in Williamstown in the Top 10, rocking in behind Biro. Ager's second-place finish clocked a final time of 15:08.6 and a 6:05.5 average mile.
Three Cardinals finished under 16 minutes to reach the Top 20.
Jordan Walter '25 placed 17
th with a final time at 15:42.5. Walter's mile came in at 6:19.2. Freshman
Virginia Lessner '28 was one spot behind in 18
th, running a time of 15:43.1. And rounding out the trio was freshman Alexandra Weingard in 19
th. Weingard finished the 4k race with a final time of 15:45.8.
The Cardinals will host the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the The Wes Fuhrman '05 Trails Cross Country Course.
