BOSTON, MA. – The Wesleyan women's track and field team took to Boston to compete in the Suffolk Relays, hosted by Suffolk University, on Saturday and finished the day with two, Top 10 placements and nine Top 20 finishes from the Track at New Balance.
Starting the day off, the Cardinals had three finishes in the mile event. Leading the way,
Elanora Smith '27 placed 12
th with a final time clocked at 5:26.80.
Alexandra Weingard '28 came in at 17 as she ran a final 5:30.27. Running a 5:32.31,
Oona Vali '27 placed 19
th.
In the 1000m, the Cardinals had their first Top 10 finisher in
Ellie Green '28. Green placed 10 with a clocked time of 3:09.03. Three spots behind Green was
Stella Loezos '27 with a 3:73.17 for 13
th.
Juliette Sullivan '27 ran an impressive 26.44 in the 200m dash as she placed 12
th for the Cardinals. In the 3000m,
Margaret Stevens '27 came in seventh, the second Top 10 placement, while running a 10:44.33.
Placing 18
th in the long jump for the Cardinals in the field events, Kate DiTullo '28 finished with a distance of 4.69m. Another placement at 18,
Fiona Carroll '25 3.00m in the pole vault.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, Jan. 17, when they compete in the NYC Gotham Cup.
